As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the General Services Administration is soliciting bids\u00a0for design and construction\u00a0of a replacement of air handling units, installation of photovoltaic arrays, and installation of a vegetative roof.\u00a0 These renovations will be performed on two federal buildings in Philadelphia. The leading metal roof contractor<\/a> will be engaged in the process of its installation.<\/p>\n The GSA is looking for the best value proposition and not necessarily the best price.\u00a0 Price will be submitted, but they will look at what team provides them with better value.\u00a0 The criteria for selection consists of the following items in order of importance.<\/p>\n Factor #1 Past Performance<\/p>\n Factor\u00a0#2 Key Personnel of the Construction Team and the Design Team<\/p>\n Factor #3 Project Management Plan<\/p>\n Factor #4 Small Disadvantaged Business<\/p>\n We must assemble a team the meets the experience requirements of the GSA.\u00a0 Those requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n 1.\u00a0 Three projects within the past ten years that demonstrates the firm\u2019s experience on HVAC projects with AHU replacement and ductwork in an occupied office facility with construction valued at greater than or equal to $3 million.<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0\u00a0Two projects, one of which demonstrates experience with a non-unitized vegetative roof system and both of which demonstrate the construction experience working on a minimum roof area of 20,000 square feet on an existing structure<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0\u00a0 Three projects within the past ten years that demonstrates the firm\u2019s experience working with Crystalline technology on a minimum of 50kW rated system per project in a high rise building defined as 5 stories or taller<\/p>\n I am a\u00a0commercial roofing contractor in Louisville, KY<\/a> and own a small disadvantaged company and a LEED accredited professional.\u00a0 I will assist with proposal preparation, design considerations, materials: metal\/tile roofing<\/a>,\u00a0 AutoCAD work, estimating, schedule preparation, writing subcontracts, on-site project management, change order management, submittal management, RFIs, and project close-out.<\/p>\n Please contact me at john@constructonomics.com<\/a> if you would like to be a part of this team.\u00a0 I’m confident that with the right team assembled, we can win this thing.
